Ragefest 2018 was definitely a show worth going to! Let me tell you guys something; I wasn’t for sure if I was going or not but when I decided that I did, it was a decision I DO NOT regret! So many amazing band tore it down that night and once the show was over, I knew immediately I had to share this experience with you guys! From the opening band to the headliners, this was one of the best shows I’ve ever attended!
The opening band was called Cross Your Fingers, hailing from Nashville, Tennessee. This was the first time I’ve ever heard and seen these guys and for an opening band they were pretty good. Did some small research on them after the show and it seems like they haven’t been around for much long, but I was impressed by these guys. My only criticism was some of their songs from their set-lists I couldn’t get into them that much but other than that they were pretty good.
The next band to perform was SPITE! Oh man I’m a big fan of SPITE! The first time I saw these guys were last year around Fall I would say and I’m been a fan ever since. They tore it down! In my honest opinion, they were the second best act on the show to me, right behind Attila being #1 of course. I love their music because they’re so raw, so in your face, so HEAVY! They can perform anywhere and almost have some of the best sets on the entire show. For those of you who are reading this and are huge metalheads, SPITE is the band you guys should check out immediately and trust me you won’t be disappointed!
Next up was the band Rings of Saturn. One thing I can say about them: FANTASTIC! I believe I’ve seen these guys once before I just can’t pinpoint when. I was really impressed with their two guitarists. They both shredded up on that stage like there’s no tomorrow. Their vocalist Ian Bearer has some really good vocals, especially his low growls. After seeing for the first time in a while I said to myself that I gotta get into their music a lot more because I’ve been sleeping on these guys for no reason whatsoever.
Volumes was up next and they, like always, killed it as well! I’ve been a fan of theirs since 2013 when I heard their song “Wormholes” from their album, VIA. They perform some of their tops songs such as Wormholes, Feels Good, Limitless, etc. If you’re not a fan of Volumes or never heard of them, stop what you’re doing and check these guys out! They always deliver a great showing and can send you home in a happy mood with a great performance. Please guys, check them out right now!
Suicide Silence! Pioneers of the deathcore scene! They performed next and they were my third favorite acts of the whole show. Suicide Silence knows how to get a crowd going. I expected them to perform songs from their recent album, but they mainly performed some of their older songs and I wasn’t complaining about that at all. I was happy to here them perform hits such as Disengage, Unanswered, No Pity for a Coward, etc. Hearing the crowd singing along to NPFAC was one of the main highlights of the night. My one criticism was that I would’ve liked to hear a little bit of their newer songs. Other than that tiny issue, Suicide Silence tore it down!
Last and certainly not least, ATTILA closed out the show! Attila was THE act of the night, as you would expect from the headliner band. They even got the crowd going RIGHT BEFORE entering the stage. I’m telling y’all when the lights deemed red and their intro began, people were already losing their minds! One by one each band members entered the stage to an nice ovation, especially when Fronz came on that’s when things got amped real quick. They also performed their top hits such as About That Life, Middle Fingers Up, Bulletproof, etc. Now I didn’t stay too long because I had to catch a ride home, but from what I saw Attila was the band of the night and every single band before them did great as well.
Ragefest 2018 was awesome and if their coming to a town near you, go check out the show! Y’all won’t be disappointed! To every single band that performed last night, THANK YOU GUYS FOR THE TIME OF MY LIFE!
